The hotel is situated in a beautiful tea-growing valley with stunning views. the rooms are clean and spacious, with comfortable beds and hot showers. the staff are polite and friendly, and the breakfast is delicious with customized omelets and rich coffee. They provide mosquito killers in the rooms. the hotel organizes tours to local markets, parks, waterfalls, and tea plantations.
The heating in the rooms is insufficient, making the dampness and coldness an issue.

Only the view, nothing else
For a start, they were not expecting us even though we had internet reservation; lots of steps - only suitable for the physically fit; lunch took an hour to be prepared; waiters did not know what was available in the kitchen to be ordered; toilet door could not be locked; beds were lumpy; triple room had only two towels - third provided on request; water heater was not working - staff did not realise there was another switch in the switchboard to turn it on; wait staff kept dropping cutlery on customers; staff did not advise us in advance if eftpos machine (for payment using amex/visa) was not working even though they were aware that we were short on cash the previous night. I ended up leaving a note for them to display that their machine was out of order and terms were cash alone, while I waited for my husband to get into town to withdraw @ aud300.

Simply put the present condition of the hotel doesn't meet the standards for international travelers. It needs a major makeover. The toilet in our room was leaking all night and no staff was available to complain to, let alone fix it. there was no choice except to book into another hotel.

The view from the room was beautiful, facing the tea plantations and a temple. Buses and tuk-tuks are easily available to travel downtown. The staff was friendly and hospitable.
The room had a slight damp smell and the carpet was old. The cupboard was falling apart and needed maintenance.

overpriced room: 35 euro for 1 night. In the centre of Nuwera Eliya you pay 12 euro for the same room. it is located 3km from the busstation in Nuwera. They brought a heater, but on his maximum you feel that is not enough.

Beautiful mountain views and comfortable beds. Hot water worked well, and the sheets were clean. the location is great: easy access to town center and close to tea plantations for a scenic walk. the local restaurant served authentic food.
The rest of the hotel was run-down, with old furniture and a dirty carpet. the hotel staff was either non-existent or not helpful.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Very nice view from the hotel room. As the hotel was not full, they let us see a couple of rooms and choose which one was most suitable for us as we were travelling with 3 small children.
There was draft from the windows and during the night it was cold in the bed which was by the window. But we did get a small heater in the room without asking.

View from the Window. That is it.
In August the rooms were cold and damp - even the sheets felt damp. They had made the bed up with the blanket under the sheet! Small heater insufficient to warm the room up. Had to wait 30 minutes for hot water after inserting room key on arrival. Restaurant times state 7 to 10 for breakfast and dinner. Dinner not available until 8pm. Breakfast not until 7.30 although I smelled them cooking bacon at 6.30. Guess what - breakfast was cold. Buffet dinner cold and unappetising. Coffee undrinkable. Lots of staff hanging around but none of them spoke good English nor were able to help out or serve properly. At checkout told we had to pay cash despite booking online - were told the electronic payment did not work. I said we could not pay except by credit card and that they better try again - lo and behold, the connection suddenly worked so I was able to pay electronically after all. Hmmm.

Absolutely nothing.
